All participants must register at the front desk or online in order to participate in programs. Many classes have maximums and we want to make sure we have the correct ratios.

“Friday Nights”

This program is a great night out for socializing with other teenagers. The program offers fitness, aquatics and light bites within a safe and comfortable setting and is centered on maintaining self-sufficiency. Participants function independently with peer group mentoring.

Ages 13 and up

This program is designed for siblings of children with challenges. Children will enjoy games and a light snack while engaging in conversation surrounding life with a sibling that has special needs. Children will meet others who may be in circumstances similar to their own.

Unified Art

For those children with an interest in the arts, Unified Art provides a collaborative opportunity in the visual arts. Children with special needs will be paired with a partner and given the opportunity to develop artistically and socially. There is no fee for this class but all participants must register.

The Visual Mixing Bowl…Ages 10 – teens

With the use of technology, cooking lessons will be demonstrated step by step as each participant and volunteer buddy follows at their own preparation station. Of course, the class will then dine together! The participants will learn to pre-plan for each recipe, engage in large and fine motor skill activities, identify and use a variety of measuring tools and enjoy their accomplishments! For ages 10 – teens.

Music Connections

Music Connections is a group experience designed to target socialization and play development in children ages 4-7, through the naturally stimulating and connective medium of music. In a fun, nurturing environment, Music Connections will help each child enhance speech and language skills, while promoting self-expression and self-confidence. Singing, drumming, dancing, and improvised musical interactions will all be used to achieve these goals. This program is facilitated by Arts for Healing Inc.

Just Us Girls

Just Us Girls is a great chance for any girl age 8 to 12 to enjoy anything from manicures to athletics, from art to movie night. We can do it all! Come to the Y on Thursday evenings and join us in all the fun!

Power of Play Sensory Edition

The winter session of Sensory Edition will focus on sensory experiences geared towards pre-school and kindergarten-aged children. The 6-week series will incorporate different sensory experiences through fun and enriched play activities that can easily be integrated at home!
