About Lifeguard Training

The Darien YMCA offers the most up to date and nationally recognized American Red Cross Lifeguard Training program. The course content and activities prepare lifeguard candidates to recognize emergencies, respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, and prevent drowning and other incidents.

Certifications included in this class include

  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (valid for 2 years)
  • First Aid (valid for 2 years)
  • Lifeguard Training (valid for 2 years)

Fee for Lifeguard Certification: $315 Members, $475 Non-Members

Fee for Lifeguard Re-certification: $175 Members, $225 Non-Members

Waterfront Lifeguard Training is offered as an “add-on” to several of our May & June lifeguard training classes.
Fee: $85 Members, $110 Non-Members in addition to the Certification fee above
Please note that registrants need to be at least 15 years of age to participate in any Lifeguard Training class.
