All participants must register online or at the front desk. Many of our classes have maximums and we want to make sure we stay within our ratios.
Swim and Sail for Children with Special Needs (Summer Only)
The Swim and Program are offered to children with special needs and one typical sibling or friend. Participants will enjoy outdoor games, swimming at the YMCA, sailing, canoeing, and kayaking on Holly Pond. The program is conducted by the Y’s special needs staff and certified sailing staff.
Ages 5-10 years, Monday – Friday 3:00 – 5:15 pm
Ages 11-18 years, Monday – Friday 5:30 – 7:45 pm

Special Needs Swim Lessons • Ages 3 – 12 years • View Class Times & Fees
The Y’s learn-to-swim program for children ages 3 – 12 with developmental disabilities. Please call Jim Matthews prior to registering, so we can learn about your child’s special needs and swimming experience, at (203) 655-8228 ext. 1332.
Aquatic Exercise • Ages 4 – 15 years • View Class Times & Fees
Using the soothing properties of water, our specially trained therapists will perform aquatic exercises and activities with your child. All sessions will be offered 1 on 1, and consist of 45 minutes of exercise with an additional 15 minutes allotted for warm up, cool down, and post-session consultation with parents. 4- 60-minute sessions
Saturday Swim Club • Ages 10 – 17 years • View Class Times & Fees
This club is intended for children that are comfortable in the large pool. Twenty-five minutes are spent on group activities that include stroke development, and twenty minutes is free swim. Saturdays 12:30 – 1:15 pm
Stay and Play • Ages 10 – 17 years • View Class Times & Fees
This is a great program for out Saturday Swim Club Participants who are then going to Sibs Gym. Participants bring their own lunch. They will also participate in games, arts & crafts, and playground time.
