Teen Health Coaching Program – A Teen empowerment series focused on balancing the mind, body and spirit. This 4-week series led by the Y’s Health and Wellness Director, Jessica Van Sciver, and a certified Yoga Instructor, Talita Moss, will focus on a holistic approach to wellness for ages 14-16. Sessions will not only include nutrition and fitness education, but guidance on how to live life mindfully and strong. The goal is to empower young women to feel confident and proud in their own skin, to build a life full of self-love, courage and kindness, and to become a motivation to inspire others to live happy and healthy.
When: Monday, Wednesday and Fridays 3-4 pm, from Oct. 14th – Nov. 8th
Where: Monday and Friday will be held in Studio 1
Wednesdays will be held in the Training Center
Monday Sessions: This day will focus on diving deeper into different aspects of nutrition and wellness. We will focus on quality nutrition and what it means to eat well for our bodies. We will also dive into the “primary foods” that feed us -social, physical and mental wellness. Wednesday Sessions: This day will focus on strength and quality movement with emphasis on the core (our bodies support!). Every week will pay attention to different modalities of strength training, using just the weight of the body to establish good form and overall balance. Friday Sessions: This day of the program will be about mindfulness, mobility and flexibility, by using components of yoga, meditation and strength.
