Aquatics Makeup Policy:
The Aquatics Department will provide up to 1 make-up class per session per participant for missed classes. This applies to any class missed due to personal reasons or illness. No additional credits will be issued and “drop-in” makeups will not be done during the session. Make-ups will be provided on predetermined days and times:  on a space-available basis and will not necessarily be offered at the exact day and time as your current class. If you are unable to attend the offered makeup times, no additional credits will be issued.

There will be limited space so please arrange your makeups as soon as you miss a class.

Extended illness will receive an online credit with a doctor’s note.

Contact Amy D'Andrea to schedule your makeup. Extended illness will require a doctor's note and result in online credit. Pool closure/ weather cancellations will be made up as usual.


Stage A: Water Discovery, age 6-12 months (Small Pool)
(parents remain in the pool within arm's reach at all times)

This is an introduction to the aquatic environment for parents and their children. This is a water adjustment class to teach help parents set developmentally appropriate expectations for infants enrolled in swim lessons.


Stage B: Water Exploration, age 13-36 months (Small Pool)
(parents remain in the pool within arm's reach at all times)

This class is designed to build on the skills from the Water Discovery level and to encourage the children’s growth, but limited independence in the water. If the child is close to 3 years of age, the instructor will begin to prepare them for the pre-school level program.


Gym & Swim, ages 13 months - 36 Months (Small Pool)
(parents remain in the pool within arm's reach at all times)

The class consists of 30 minutes of developmentally appropriate movement and exercise and 30 minutes of swimming lessons. This program is designed to develop your child’s gross motor skills.


Gym & Swim, ages 3 years - 6 years old (Small Pool)
(drop off- parents remain inside YMCA)

The class consists of 30 minutes of developmentally appropriate movement and exercise and 30 minutes of swimming lessons. This program is designed to develop your child’s gross motor skills.
